Being Gigi: Our Two Amazing Grandbabies

There is a name I didn't know I was waiting for until I heard it: Gigi.

Today I'm Gigi to two amazing little boys. Knox is 2, and Koby is 4 months old. If you've followed our story, you know there was a day I almost didn't get to see any of this. Every hug from these boys reminds me why the angels told me it wasn't my time.

Knox, my little adventurer

Knox is two, which means everything is exciting and nothing is boring. Peekaboo through the patio chair is serious business, and that grin gets me every single time.

Horses over the fence are the best thing he's ever seen, until the next best thing.

Give that boy a splash fountain and a sunny day, and he'll laugh until he can hardly stand up. I could watch him all afternoon.

Koby, our sweet baby

Koby is just 4 months old, and he already has my whole heart. Those big eyes take in everything. I steal every kiss I can on those little fists while they're still this small.

Not every moment is a smiling one, and that's okay. Babies cry, and Gigi and his mama Morgan are right there to love him through every bit of it.

Why being Gigi matters to me

Being Gigi is a gift from God. It's sunsets with Knox on my hip, baby kisses for Koby, and a toddler who wants "one more" of everything. It's proof that fighting to keep going is worth it.

If you're a grandparent, hold them close today. And if you're in a hard season, keep fighting. There may be a little one waiting to call you by a name that changes everything.

With love,

Gigi (April)
